Entry port of fruits in Qinzhou Free Trade Area to be put into operation

Recently, the ship of "Haifeng Jiangsu" was successfully docked at the berth of 3# in Qinzhou Free Trade Area, bringing the port’s first imported fruits, which marks its coming into operation as a base of imported fruits. After designating ports of entry for assembled vehicles, imported crops and meat, Qinzhou Free Trade Area saw a new one.

The operation of this port will greatly boost the development of cold chain logistics in this area. It is expected that the amount of fruits imported through this port will be 80,000 tons this year, and the amount will reach 400,000 in 2020. This will on one hand cater to the domestic demand for high-quality fruits, and optimize the quality of supplies, and on the other, be conducive to enhance the port’s visibility, and improve its service scope. The operation of this port will surely play a vital role for Qinzhou in building the southern part of the trade route connecting “Chongqing-Guangxi-Singapore”, enhancing trade cooperation with ASEAN countries and forging a frontline for the “Belt and Road” initiative.
